I ran and FINISHED the 10k ADIDAS King of the Road Marathon today and it feels liberating to finished something you started. This is not actually the 1st marathon I joined but this is technically the first marathon I started and finished and I didn't even train. I'm maybe boasting to much, so to set it straight I finished the marathon while jogging, running, and walking most of the time..hehe. But hey, I think 10k is not a joke for a beginner.
Everything about the marathon was wrong except the running/jogging/walking itself. I was registered as MARIELLE BATONGBAKAL because Jihan didn't know what my last name was. I was registered for the 10k because there were no race number for 5k anymore. I also got the male's singlet because again there were no girl's singlet anymore. All of these happened because we didn't register early. Speaking of early, Me and Voltz started 45mins after the race has started..hehe. Anyway, what matters is I was able to run and finished the 10k marathon.
When did I start running?
I started running back in college because it was our training for mountain climbing. But I wasn't really a fan of it and I didn't really ran fast, I guess my weight had something to with it and I was too lazy to do it, so I stopped.
Why did you start running again?
When I started working, I wanted to get fit and running or jogging was the cheapest exercise I could think of, also it can be done alone so if I didn't have anyone to jog with me I could still do it.
What does running do to you?
It keeps me sane. It's a time for myself. It's a breather.
I can't wait to join another marathon.
